Online or In-person Modeling Classes: Which one is better?
If you don’t have much budget and time or if you are unsure how to get started or take your modeling career to the next level, take an online class.
Online Modeling Class vs In-person Modeling Class
In-person classes are expensive. The overall cost can easily add up to a few thousands of dollars. They are also time-consuming because you have to commute to their location. Additionally, they leave out many important topics because the time is limited to mostly a few hours only.
In contrast, online classes are more affordable, mostly between $100 and $400. They are also more comprehensive. A good online course includes 15 to 25 hours of training. And you spend your entire time on learning from the comfort of your home. There is no need to commute to anywhere.
Flexibility of Class Schedule
Online classes offer more flexibility for your schedule. While in-person classes force strict schedules and are mostly offered irregularly because they wait for enough enrollments to come in before getting started, online classes are offered more often and they are on a more regular and flexible schedule.
Additionally, If it’s a pre-recorded class rather than a live class, you can even study it whenever you have time, day or night, from anywhere you want.
When is A Good Time to Take an In-person Class?
Once you study different types of modeling and other related subjects such as modeling industry fundamentals, styling, model etiquette, and makeup through a comprehensive online modeling course such as Modeling Master Course, it’s a good idea to sign up for an in-person class or coaching session to gain a different perspective for modeling.
It’s also important to note that online classes are useful for both beginner and experienced models because their comprehensive content offers topics to models at all experience levels. In-person classes are more limited in terms of the length and depth of the classes.
My Personal Experience
The first modeling training I had was an in-person runway class. It was confusing because the instructor did not follow a structured plan. She went out of topic frequently and mixed different walks in her explanations. While I struggled to put pieces together and take meaningful notes about what to do in different types of walks, the class was already over.
The reason I first took an in-person class was that there wasn’t a masterclass quality online modeling course at that time (about 7 years ago). Luckily, it’s a different story now. Modeling training is not limited to in-person options anymore. This is wonderful news, especially for those who don’t live near big cities where in-person classes are offered.
Modeling is for Everybody
Folks frequently ask me if they can become a model. Most people have doubts and insecurities when it comes to modeling.
My answer is always the same: Yes. Regardless of your age, height, body shape, and location, you can become a model because there is at least one modeling type that is a good fit for everybody.
