How did you first get started in modeling, and what drew you to this career?
I started modeling at age 7. I went on a modeling audition and got called back to attend a local modeling and acting class. I have always loved fashion, walking in runway shows, and being photographed.
What do you think are the key attributes or qualities that make a successful model?
Appropriate height/look for the company that hires you as well as punctual and easy to work with.
How do you prepare for a fashion shoot or runway show? Are there any particular rituals or routines that you follow?
I prepare for a fashion shoot with hair/makeup/wardrobe and eat a healthy but light breakfast. Fruits and veggies are a must for me.
How do you stay in shape and maintain a healthy lifestyle, given the demands of the industry?
I stay in shape for modeling by eating healthy, drinking plenty of water daily, and staying active. I am involved in my school’s varsity dance team, tennis team, basketball team, cross country and track teams. I love to exercise. It makes me feel good about myself.
What advice would you give to someone who is interested in pursuing a career in modeling?
I would tell anyone that wanted to be in modeling that you do not always get calls for everything you want but keep current pictures, try to get a modeling agent, and market yourself out there. Never know when that one person will love your photos and want to book you.
What has been your favorite modeling experience so far, and why?
My favorite modeling experience so far would be a fashion night out modeling show where I wore beautiful clothes and walked a runway 5 times.
What are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced as a model, and how have you overcome them?
Some challenges I faced in modeling was Covid because it really slowed jobs down and now a lot of things are still on Zoom. I’d much rather go in person to any job than online.
What are some of your own personal goals for your modeling career, and what would you like to accomplish in the coming years?
My personal goal for modeling is trying to get a runway job with a great designer and become a cover model in a magazine. Fashion changes year to year and I am always excited to see what’s next and the kind of job I can get.
