Margaret Qualley is an American actress and model. Born to Andie MacDowell and Paul Qualley, Margaret Qualley first made an impactful mark as one of her father’s leading actors on The Leftovers as Palo Alto’s main protagonist but also earned notable roles in films like Palo Alto. At age 8, Margaret began studying ballet before briefly dabbling in modeling before transitioning into acting roles such as Palo Alto or Death Note (2017) or Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019), or Stars at Noon (2022) among many others. For which she earned an Emmy nomination.

Born and raised in Montana, she resided on her parents’ ranch with Justin and Rainey – her parents being musicians and former models; their mother an actress; all three having careers in acting or modeling themselves. Justin studied dance at American Ballet Theatre in New York City while Rainey later modeled for Chanel and Valentino designers on runway shows and print campaigns.

Qualley made her acting debut in 2013’s drama film Palo Alto and quickly made an impressive first impression, earning critical acclaim and returning in seasons 2 and 3 of The Leftovers as a regular.
