Kaitlyn Dever was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. Since she was young she has been acting, with roles appearing on shows and films such as Modern Family, Make It or Break It, and The Mentalist Party Down among many more. Additionally, she attended Dallas Young Actors Studio’s month-long acting program to expand her talents further.

One of her first notable roles was Gwen Thompson from An American Girl: Chrissa Stands Strong in 2009, then two years in Justified on FX as Loretta McCready for two years, she then made appearances on other television and movie projects such as Private Practice, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Spectacular Now, J Edgar, Bad Teacher etc.

She gained recognition with her portrayal of Jayden Cole in Short Term 12, for which she received a nomination from the Phoenix Film Critics Society award for best youth performance.
