As an actress, producer, singer, entrepreneur, social media influencer with millions of followers on Instagram, runway debutant at the Missoni fashion show as well as audience member at Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty Vol 4 show are just a few achievements she can claim in just 18 years! As she advances professionally her style is growing as well.

Martin began acting at a very early age and quickly shot to prominence with her first national commercial for Meineke at age 5. Since then, Martin has continued her acting career on television shows and movies before recently becoming the youngest producer ever with Universal’s agreement to produce her film Little, featuring Issa Rae and Regina Hall as stars.

Martin has already earned herself many memes on social media with her friendly demeanor, but that’s only just the beginning. The actress and producer plans on continuing her professional growth by starting her own production company; already working on Step Monster (an animated short about an awkward teenage stepmother situation).

Marsai Martin is an accomplished actress and producer best known for her portrayal of Diane Johnson on Black-ish. Audiences everywhere adored this spunky but wise beyond-her-years character that has earned numerous accolades and nominations from both industry veterans as well as fans alike. Marsai’s work on Black-ish has cemented her place as one of Hollywood’s hottest young talent.

She is also a voice actor and has participated in various animated projects, most notably Liberty in PAW Patrol: The Movie (2021) and its 2023 sequel film PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie (2023). Additionally, she has appeared as both a star and producer in movies such as Fantasy Football and Saturdays.

Martin was encouraged by her parents to pursue acting and began taking acting classes. At age 5, she signed with a talent agency. Her first major gig was appearing in a national commercial for Meineke; both she and her parents were impressed at how quickly she took direction, so they showed her photos to other agents at different agencies; at agent number four, one told her they wanted her!

Genius Productions was co-produced with her recent feature film Little by her production company Genius Productions and features her voice work in Dragons: Rescue Riders, Goldie & Bear, and Spirit Untamed. As a strong presence in animation, she is actively working to increase Black actors within this genre and work to increase diversity within it. Her most recent feature film production company involvement included co-producing the Genius Productions film Little.

She made headlines as one of the stars of The Boondocks, an innovative cartoon series that explored Black culture without stereotyping. She serves as a role model to young Black girls and illustrates that anyone with enough determination can achieve their dreams.

At 14, she became the youngest person ever to produce and star in a major film. Her legacy continues through using her platform to celebrate Black joy while depicting authentic stories. Committed to her craft, she plans on breaking more records soon!

Marsai Martin is a young actress and producer who has made an impressionable mark on Hollywood. She is best known for her role as Diane Johnson on ABC’s Black-ish, receiving critical acclaim as she earned two NAACP Image Awards for the show. Additionally, Martin created and produced Gen Z financial literacy series Money with Marsai which received critical acclaim as well.

This hit movie stars Regina Hall and Issa Rae as tech entrepreneur who finds themselves trapped inside the body of 13-year-old themselves; Martin has since established Genius Productions to continue making such innovative films.

Furthermore, Marsai is an outspoken advocate for mental health awareness and female empowerment; working closely with the nonprofit Color of Change she hosted a writer’s brunch earlier this year with Color of Change to support writers of color within the industry.

Martin has made her mark outside of acting by being an advocate for Gen Z. In partnership with Eventbrite and Women In Optometry, Martin spearheaded the Social Connection Project designed to combat social isolation among this age group. Additionally, she serves as a spokeswoman for vision company Essilor of America while advocating on their behalf and Women In Optometry’s behalf in raising awareness for single-vision patients.

Martin made history when she produced Little through Genius Productions. Martin has used her platform for good by fundraising efforts for childhood cancer research with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation; raising both awareness and funds.
