Chanel Iman began modeling with Ford Models at age 12. She earned third place in the Ford Model’s Supermodel of the World competition and signed with their agency. Chanel quickly rose through the ranks after appearing on Teen Vogue Cover alongside Karlie Kloss and Ali Michael in 2007.

She has graced numerous fashion runways and become an Angel for Victoria’s Secret, while simultaneously being an entrepreneur by owning the Red Bag boutique in Culver City, California.

Chanel Iman, better known by her stage name Victoria’s Secret Angel status and appearances in several films (such as the 2015 film Dope ), has enjoyed an estimated $12 Million modeling career over her long modeling career.

Iman was born in Atlanta, Georgia of African-American and Korean heritage. Her mother gave her the name Chanel to honor Coco Chanel; Iman was raised in Los Angeles’ Baldwin Hills neighborhood – often referred to as “Black Beverly Hills”.

In 2011, Iman joined Uma Thurman, Geena Davis, and Josh Hartnett from Hollywood as part of USAID and Ad Council’s FWD campaign to help spread awareness regarding East Africa’s drought situation. Together with them, she shared their personal experiences to encourage viewers to act.

Model Chanel Iman and NFL star Sterling Shepard have split, following reports of trouble in paradise. Shepard filed for divorce in June 2021 due to irreconcilable differences; the couple married in March 2018 and share two daughters named Cali Clay and Cassie Snow.

TMZ reports that Iman has been granted sole use of their North Caldwell home while their divorce continues through court proceedings. Shepard will have to remove his items, such as gaming systems, sauna equipment, and red light therapy system; as well as weightlifting and exercise equipment; however he will continue paying her monthly living expenses.
