Bijou Phillips grew up on Long Island in New York with her musician father John Phillips of Mamas and Papas fame, Genevieve Waite from South Africa, and four half-siblings: Mackenzie, Jeffrey, and Chynna (three of which died young). Later she turned her focus toward acting, appearing in such films as The Door in the Floor and Hostel: Part II as well as appearing in television series such as Hawaii Five-0 and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Bijou co-starred alongside Masterson in two 2009 films: the romantic comedy Made for Each Other and the crime drama The Bridge to Nowhere. She made an appearance in Chuck Palahniuk’s novel Choke as well.

In June 2023, reports surfaced of Danny Masterson being accused of sexually assaulting three women. While Danny strongly denied these allegations, Bijou has stood by her husband throughout this ordeal.
