She also had a recurring role on Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate Events as Kit Snicket and is an accomplished singer and musician; part of Just Add Water during her time at Yale University and American Dreams among other performances; short films.

Williams, playing Gemma on M3GAN, marks a return to the type of characters she played in Marnie, though with an important twist: where Marnie often depicted a toxic white girl of privilege who was often thought of as clueless and self-centered, Allison Williams in real life is much more thoughtful and empathic; thus her participation in M3GAN showcases her ability to take on complex roles with nuance and depth.

Williams, known for her controversial character on Girls, has not shied away from speaking out on social issues. She took part in the #MeToo movement and revealed her experiences of sexual assault while on the set of Girls in 2017.
